Plastic coil bindings consist of a single filament of PVC plastic installed through oval or round holes. Plastic coil bindings are manufactured from 100% PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and are ideal for applications such as children's books where wire may be undesirable. With a spectrum of some 36 colors, this type of binding lends itself well to color coordination of inks for outstanding aesthetic appearance. Hole spacing for plastic coil binding varies from 5 holes per inch to 2.5 holes per inch depending upon product thickness.
